Car damaged after shot fired in Wolverhampton

DETECTIVES are investigating an incident in which a shot was fired at a car on Staveley Road in Whitmore Reans, at the weekend.

Officers on routine patrol came across the vehicle with a small hole in it's windscreen near to the junction of Leicester Street at around 4.50am on Saturday 4 February. The damage was being inspected by three men.

No one was injured but the area was cordoned off for a full forensic search to be undertaken. The street was re-opened later that day after the car was removed to a secure location for further tests.

House to house enquires were conducted and detectives will review CCTV later today in the hope that the incident was captured on film.

This is thought to be an isolated incident.
