Woodthorne Primary SchoolChildren at a top ten primary school* in Wolverhampton celebrated the Harvest Festival season by collecting food for the Good Shepherd Ministry.

Woodthorne Primary School held not one but two Harvest Festival assemblies last week for the children and their parents. Based in the heart of Tettenhall the school is collecting food for the Wolverhampton homeless charity.

A CRYSTAL clear image of two men suspected of stealing car batteries has been released by police.

CCTV Battery TheivesOfficers are keen to speak to the men in connection with the theft which took place at Car Spares on Cooper Street in Wolverhampton on Tuesday 27 November.

It is believed that the men visited the store in a car described as a dark blue Vauxhall Vectra estate.

A third man remained in the car whilst the other two visited the store.

Thieves are believed to have stolen four car batteries worth around £160 before driving away.

A 24-year-old woman has today (Wednesday) been charged with attempted murder after a baby was found with serious injuries last Saturday (8 September) near a block of flats in Wolverhampton.

The police inquiry began after officers were called to a report of a child missing from a flat on Boscobel Crescent, Wolverhampton at around 6.30pm on Saturday. 

A PENSIONER was karate kicked to the floor by a man less than half his age before a fellow lout leapt onto his chest in a two-footed stamp.

CCTV footage showing the attack in Wolverhampton bus station has been released in the hope someone will recognise the offenders and contact police.

Investigating officer, Sergeant Adrian Brown from the Safer Travel Police Team, said: "The elderly man is seen wandering through the bus station...he looks unsteady on his feet and may well be drunk.

LOCAL teenagers from the charity 'The Challenge Network' joined local police officers last week to develop a campaign looking at raising awareness of depression in young people.

The Challenge Network is a registered charity which runs The Challenge programme for young people. The core aim of the programme is to bring together young people from different backgrounds and inspire them to come together to serve their communities, through a series of challenges; including learning new skills, including teamwork, leadership and communication.
