Mayor saddles up for charity raffle

The Mayor’s ball takes place on March 23 and aims to raise thousands of pounds for charity.

Top prizes will be on offer in the raffle including a bicycle, a football signed by the Wolves team, wine and a flat screen television.

The popular evening also includes a four course meal, a disco, a comedian and singer. All proceeds will go to the Mayor’s chosen charities - Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Families (SSAFA) and the leukaemia unit at Russells Hall Hospital.

Councillor Michael Evans, Mayor of Dudley, said:

“We have had some very kind donations for the raffle and I am very grateful to everyone’s support.

“This is all about raising as much money as we can so I hope people will come along on the night and join in the fun.”

The popular fundraiser this year takes place at The Copthorne Hotel, Brierley Hill, from 7.15pm.

Guests can enjoy a glass of Bucks Fizz as they arrive, before a four course dinner with a mouth-watering menu. There will also be a disco and entertainment from singer Maggie O’Hara and comedian Doug Parker. There is also a licensed bar.
