Local residents are urged to share their thoughts on how houses on a Dudley housing development will be let in the future.
Officers from Dudley Council and Bromford Group will be in Dudley town centre on Monday March 15 from 10am to 3pm to talk to local people about the future lettings plan for the new North Priory estate.
During the day they will gather the thoughts of local people on how they see the lettings plan working and will also gather expressions of interest from local people who may be interested in living on the estate in the future.
Councillor David Simms, cabinet member for housing, libraries and adult learning, said:
“On the new North Priory estate there will obviously be a good mix of rented and private properties. Through consultation with local people and our partners on how those rented properties are let we can have a robust lettings plan in place to ensure we are fair in our approach to letting the properties and meeting the housing needs of our residents.”
Susan Dell, business manager, from Bromford Living, said:
“The long term success and sustainability of the new North Priory can only be achieved by partnership working. We very much value the input from the local community. Through a number of consultation events, we will be collecting views on the lettings plan for the new properties. We will be working with Dudley Council to complete the lettings plan.”

Planning permission for the new North Priory was approved in October 2009. The approved proposals included an outline plan for the whole site and a detailed plan for stage one of the development. Detailed plans for stages two and three will be submitted at a later stage during the project when any shift in the local housing market can be considered.
Dudley Council and Bromford Group/Keepmoat signed the development agreement at the beginning of the year, which confirms the commitment between each of the organisations to redevelop the old North Priory estate.
