New Comedy-Drama Coming Summer 2010

Lee Priest, a local writer is working with actors from Oldbury Repertory Theatre on an Internet-based comedy-drama series called ‘Around the Castle’ and follows the lives of five men who have known each other for years. Now aged in their 50s the series looks at how the Black Country has changed through their eyes. For example, changes to the landscape, industry, community etc. This studio production will also feature music specially written for the series.

The first episode follows one of the characters Bill as he joins a recruitment agency following the redundancy from an engineering job held since he was sixteen years of age. The first episode is planned for released by the end of June 2010 via the website www.aroundthecastle.com with other episodes following soon after.

Alongside the main five characters are many other characters, again played by the talented actors from the theatre.

Lee who originally created the series in 2005 said “I think many people from towns around the country will be able to relate to the characters and the featured storylines.”

In the future it is hoped to make the series available on CD. We will keep you updated with developments about this project. Alternatively, for further information please visit the above website.
