Dudley catering Services cooks up a national award

Excellent meals and service are being served up in Dudley, according to a national award scheme which gave it the highest score in the local authority sector.
Dudley catering services retained its status of Hospitality Assured from the Institute of Hospitality, which it has held since 2006.
The award, which highlights a standard of service and business excellence, recognises the quality of the catering delivered by the Dudley Council-run service. It provides meals at more than 100 schools, meals for social care settings, civic cuisine and catering at conferences.
Councillor Liz Walker, cabinet member for children’s services, said:
“I am delighted that once again Dudley catering services has not only been recognised with this prestigious award but we achieved the best score within the local authority sector.
“The assessment for the award is rigorous, taking into account customer opinion and looking at all aspects of service from the customers’ point of view.
“I’d like to congratulate everyone who contributed to this major achievement, among them our school cooks who provide such high quality meals for children.”
Dudley Catering Services is dedicated to providing a quality, value for money school meals service. All school meals are geared towards healthy eating while still appealing to children. Menu combinations are run through a computer package to ensure all children are offered a well balanced meal.
