Nine men due to be sentenced in connection with Polish lorry driver robbery

Nine people are due to be sentenced today (Wednesday) for offences connected with an incident in which a Polish lorry driver was found dead in Dudley in November 2010.
Bogdan Bartczak's body was discovered on grassland in Vale Road, Dudley on Monday 1 November 2010.
The 57-year-old's lorry, minus its load of 227 televisions, was recovered on the Vectra Industrial estate, Hill Top, West Bromwich that same morning. The lorry had been stolen from Oldbury some time over the weekend of October 30-31, 2010.
The men were arrested by detectives investigating the incident in November, December 2010 and January 2011. The defendants, aged between 17 and 49 were subsequently charged with offences including robbery and handling stolen goods.
They pleaded guilty at Birmingham Crown Court on 25 November 2011 to offences of Robbery, Handling stolen goods and Burglary. They will re-appear before Birmingham Crown Court this morning, 25 January.
