People with diabetes in the Walsall borough are being invited to a physical activity programme.
Walsall PACE is a community based programme that aims to provide opportunities for clients who have diabetes to become more physically active in a safe environment.
Diabetes does not mean that you can't become more active. Being active is good for all of us but is especially important for people with diabetes. Physical activity, combined with other factors will help you to manage your diabetes and prevent long-term diabetes complications
Walsall Council’s sports and leisure development service have a number of weekly sessions that take place at Palfrey Community Association, Willenhall Community & Youth Foundation, Shelfield Sports & Community College, Bloxwich Leisure Centre, Darlaston Leisure Centre and Oak Park Leisure Centre.
PACE session’s follow either a class or individual format but are all designed so that each client is able to work at their own level in order to gain the greatest individual benefit.
All sessions are delivered by specifically qualified advanced level instructors and follow strict instructor/client supervision levels.
Prior to joining the programme, each client will receive an individual consultation to assess any other medical conditions to ensure that the programme will benefit their individual needs.
