Bentley and Darlaston Area Partnership has joined forces with Old Hall People's Partnership to launch the Bentley Hub at a former shop in Queen Elizabeth Avenue. The project will be run by Old Hall with funding from the area partnership.

The unit will also act as a showcase for local residents and organisations to exhibit their work such as jewellery, card making and art together with providing them with a base for running small workshops.

Councillor Zahid Ali, Walsall Council cabinet member for communities and partnerships, said: "We are always looking at ways of supporting the local community to help them further their career prospects and make the most of their talents.

"The hub will be a real boost for the people of Bentley providing them with a range of information on their doorstep to really benefit them in life."

Denise Birkett, principal officer at Old Hall People's Partnership, added: "Old Hall People's Partnership has managed the shop in Bentley since 1998.

"The funding through the Walsall Area Partnership has enabled us to work with young people from Walsall College to redecorate and refurbish the shop and transform it into a community enterprise hub that will benefit both local and wider community members.

"We are committed to making a difference and we feel this partnership approach to service delivery will provide a one stop shop for all ages."
