Appeal to trace man wanted in connection with Wolverhampton assault

Brendan BleakleyOfficers investigating disorder in King Street on Saturday 15 October want to trace 28-year-old Brendan Bleakley from the Merry Hill area of the city to assist with their inquiry.

A 25-year-old man sustained serious head injuries in the incident, which happened at near the junction with Dudley Street, at around 11:55pm.

He was taken to hospital where he received emergency surgery for a serious injury to his brain. He now remains in a stable condition.

A 30-year-old man has been charged with a section 18 wounding grievous bodily harm with intent - in connection with the incident. He appeared at Wolverhampton Magistrates Court on 18 October. He was granted bail until his next appearance before Wolverhampton Crown Court in January 2012.
