Appeal after elderly woman is burgled by five men in Wolverhampton

Police are appealing for information following a burglary at an address in Coalway Road, Penn last night (Thursday) at 9pm.

Five men, described as white, broke into the property, threatened an 82-year-old lady and stole a quantity of cash. The woman was not injured as a result of the break in but is clearly shaken and distressed by the ordeal.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with information to contact them in Force CID at Bloxwich CID on 0345 113 5000.

Chief Inspector Richard Fisher, from Wolverhampton police, said: "We have increased patrols in Penn and would urge residents to be extra vigilant if anyone is acting suspiciously in the area.

"We would ask local people to check windows and doors are secure and keep a chain on their door.

"If anyone has concerns they can contact their local policing team at Wolverhampton on 0345 113 5000 but in an emergency you should always call 999."
